I never knew city workers were priviliged enough to yell at people in their own yards. I had my water cut off and, paid my bill. I was told it could be up to 24 hours until they cut it back on. I am a working man that works with his hands and, I noticed the lock was a barrel lock you can get from walmart for $40. I happened to have one and, used the key to take the lock off and, cut my water on. The city worker I know only as Jerry (scrawny redneck on a MAJOR POWER TRIP) comes by 4 hours later after my child had got home from school and, was needing a bath because of how hard she played in P.E. Well Jerry pulls up and, I am working trying to clean some scrap metal as I had been laid off and just found a new job I start the next week. He proceeds to the meter and I tell him I had already taken it loose and left it in there. First of let me mention this man didn't even have the key for it in his hand. He had an adjustable wrench and I guess didn't know you can get keys for them along with a new lock at walmart. He also didn't seem to know that it was called a barrel lock. Funny thing is this guy does this job and doesn't know about his equipment. Anyways I tell him what I did and, he proceeds to yell at me in front of my daughter, throws the lid down on the ground like a two year throwing a tantrum while saying "This is tampering with city property I am going to see to it that you go to jail and, are fined for it." keep in mind this is all going on in front of my daughter who is scared now. I try to talk to the man but, he hops in the city fire and rescue vehicle (which is not a water department vehicle I might add.) and literally speeds around 50 - 60 mph to city hall. I go there and, try speaking to the man who is irate and, seriously acting insane. Like I just commited murder or something like that. He still is insisting that I am going to at least be fined. All the while I am thinking I just got a new job, I just got a breath of fresh air and, now this guy wants to take that away from me? Why because he has some sort of power at the water department? Seriously I have never seen a grown man act like that. This man should be fired for his misconduct and, extremely unprofessional behavior.
